Q:
Can I train in one, or

A:
We encourage you to “cross train” in as many programs as you
like. However, you must dedicate a minimum amount of time to
a program, if you want to get the most out of them.
Q:
I am out of shape. Can
I train with you guys?
A:
YES! It’s our job to get you into shape! As a matter of
fact, you will get into the best shape of your life! No ifs,
ands or buts!
Q:
How many people are in
a class?
A:
It depends on the class, but generally we keep the number of
people low to insure the quality of instruction.
Q:

All good things require some kind of commitment. However, we
do not ask for any long term commitments. We don’t want
anyone who isn’t motivated to train with us!

A:
We offer discounts for military, law enforcement, and friend
referrals. Please inquire by calling.
BOXING & KICKBOXING
Q:
What is IMPACT?
A:
IMACT stands for Integrated Mechanics Applied to Combative
Tools. It combines the pugilistic skills from boxing,
kickboxing, and Muay Thai.
Q:

A:
No, this is the “real deal.” However, you decide how far you
want to take it.

Can I get in shape from your program?
A:
You will get in the best shape of your life if you train
diligently! MONEY BACK GUARANTEE!
Q:
If I train do I have
to fight/spar?
A: No. Most people who train do opt to spar, because the see
how much fun it is. You can train to get into shape or just
for fun.
Q:
Will I get hurt?
A: Evolution is not a kill house! We don’t just train hard,
we train smart! No one is allowed to spar unless they are
ready and capable. Although every contact sport has its wear
and tear, we have never had a serious injury in our gym.
Q:
If I train and want to compete
someday, can
I?
A: Yes! But we are a young gym, and you will need to prove
yourself if you want to represent us! Competitive training
is a whole other level.
SELF DEFENSE/ ISRAELI COMBATIVES
Q:
Are you guys a hard or a soft style? Offensive or defensive? Do you
emphasize grappling or standup fighting?
A:
Self defense and Martial Arts is not the same thing, so you
need to open your mind to a different way of thinking.
Survival doesn’t know methods or set strategies. It uses
whatever means necessary. If you throw hot coffee into an
angry muggers face, is that offensive or defensive- soft
style or a hard style?
Q:
Do you incorporate firearms into your training?
A:
We incorporate defense against firearms as part of our
standard combatives. Albert Timen, Israeli Special Forces
veteran conducts live fire training on a need to know basis.
Q:
Do you teach knife defense/fighting?
A:
Yes, edged weapon defense is an unfortunate reality. We also
teach the tactical usage of edged and impact weapons. We
also offer courses in improvised weapons and pepper spray.
This is done on a “need know” basis, and a security
clearance is required.
Q:
Are you the same as
Krav Maga?
A: Krav Maga is a generic term, for Israeli martial arts,
much like Karate or Kung Fu. There are many styles and
teachers. Not wishing to be associated with American Krav
Maga, we are teaching real no-nonsense self defense.
Q:
Isn’t Krav Maga the
official system of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF)?
A:
Just like there is no “official” gun of the Israeli or US.
Military, what is taught in the IDF varies from platoon,
brigade, and unit and the needs of an individual soldier.
Q:
What is KAPAP?
A:
see our page for more details
HAPKIDO FAQ’S
Q:
What is Hapkido?
A:
see our page for details
Q:
Aren’t traditional martial arts
obsolete, since the UFC?
A:
“The way of the
Samurai is no longer necessary? What could be more
necessary” –Tom Cruise in the movie “The Last Samurai.”
Fighting is about victory over an opponent. Combat sports
are about competition against an opponent. Traditional
Martial Arts is about victory over the self, and the process
of getting there. Interestingly enough, many of the top
fighters in the UFC were traditional martial artists.
Q:
What is the difference
between Jin Jung Kwan and any other Hapkido school?
A:
Nowadays, anyone in the
US
can teach Hapkido. The truth is there are only a few people
who practice Hapkido as it is known in
Korea. There are even less
who are licensed to teach it. Hapkido is not an “add on
system”, as it is being taught many schools. It is a
complete stand alone martial art. We don’t claim to be
better. We just invite you to come see for yourself.
