Evolution uses the most effective self-defense system available today. Krav Panim El Panim – KAPAP is the Hebrew acronym for Face To Face Combat. It is the original combat system of defensive tactics, hand-to-hand combat and self-defense.
KAPAP fight tactics originated in the 1940's and were used by the Palmach (Jewish Strike Brigades) forces in fighting for the independence of the State of Israel. These Palmach units later formed the core of Israel's special units in the conventional military (IDF).
Since it's declaration of statehood in 1948, Israel (which is smaller than most states in the U.S.) has been under constant military and terrorist attack. Everyday individuals, regardless of size, strength, or athletic ability must join the army and face real life combat. Male or female, they faced a need to defend themselves quickly and efficiently…and it had to work!
KAPAP was born out of a need to enable a person at a disadvantage - such as size or degree of armament - to defeat an adversary with an advantage.
-Conflict management & avoidance
-Psychological preparation and the ability to deal the stress of combat
-The ability to think and act under pressure
-Defense against punches and kicks and other strikes
-Escapes and releases from chokes, bear hugs and other grappling techniques
-Defense against cold weapons: knives, clubs, etc.
-Defense against hot weapons; guns, other firearms, automatic weapons and grenades
-Defense against multiple attackers
-Tactical Knife Fighting
-Combat Shooting
-Law Enforcement Tactics
-Counter-Terrorist Strategies and Techniques
KAPAP is the wave of the future in hand-to-hand combat and tactical training. One of the most important features of KAPAP is that, unlike many traditional martial arts systems, it is based in the psychological effects of fear, and the body’s reaction to stress. We are constantly evaluating other methodologies such as those used by the IDF and various military and police to update and strengthen the system.
